At Your Service

Getting the Job done, when your Caravan is out of warranty.

Working hard to put your mind at ease, the service we offer can be mixed and matched to suit you. From a basic Chassis service + Habitation check + Damp test through to just having a Habitation or Damp test. For those looking to purchase secondhand, I can also do a Pre Purchase Inspection report to allow you to decide before you buy (seller must agree to this as can be invasive).
I can also supply and fit Reich Motor Movers and Gaslow Refillable gas cylinders.

Chassis Servicing

Making sure it is safe to tow

Checking the Braking system along with the Tyres, Road Lights and chassis components are all operating as they should. Most issues arise from the age and condition of the Tyres, which unlike car tyres, unless used daily, are stood in one position for months on end, leading to cracking at stress points. Brakes also fail and can delaminate over a period of time. Best to have them checked every year. Brake pad delamination was one of my main call outs during 2023, due to caravans not being serviced before the first use.

Habitation Checks

Keeping you safe on the inside

A habitation check tests the Gas and Electrical installation is safe to use. The Gas appliances are tested for operation (which this one failed), leaks and the Electrical side is checked for operation and safety, along with 12v operational areas inside the Caravan. There is also a check for levels of Carbon Monoxide, which is an important safety issue.
Please note this is not a service of the appliances, which would require parts ordered specific to the appliance and would be charged on an individual basis.

Damp Test

Keeping you dry when its raining outside

A Damp Test can spot failures in the structure of the Caravan, that can allow water to penetrate and rot the structure of older caravans, or cause internal wall/floor deterioration on newer types. This can be done as an individual inspection or combined with the other services. The picture shown illustrates a bad case of a leak around the window rubber. Depending on the age of the caravan we can discuss remedial action as may need to be repaired in a workshop which I can help find an engineer who can accommodate. Most damp in older caravans is along the awning rails at corners, window rubbers and skylight sealant deterioration.
